The Made in Japan Hybrid II Jazz Bass® PJ perfectly balances vintage cool with modern versatility and delivers a pickup configuration rarely offered by Fender...the PJ.
The "PJ" (Precsion/Jazz) set up gets you the best of Fender tones with absolute ease. The Precision pickup in the neck position delivers thump and girth that only a P bass pick up can deliver. Its wired in Series for a thicker bottom end with mid range growl. The Jazz pick up in the Bridge position delivers poke, definition and bite as only a jazz bass can deliver. Put these two together and you have all the classic tones in the one instrument.
Utilising classic tonewoods, the Alder body resonates beautifully balanced bottom end with sweet top end, simply one of the best tonewoods for a body. Maple neck and rosewood or maple fretboard options top it off, the wood combination that has stood the test of time as the most versatile combination, Alder, Maple, rosewood....nothing sounds sweeter!
Featuring a sustain block under the vintage-style bridge with vintage-style tuners, a satin-finish neck, a Modern "C" shape, a 9.5"radius fingerboard, and narrow-tall frets, this bass provides smooth playability for players at all levels.
Its newly designed Hybrid II Custom Voiced Single Coil Jazz Bass® pickup with staggered pole piece and P Bass® pickup coupled with an alder body provides a tone set for a variety of players – from the tight sound of the P Bass® to the powerful vintage tone of the P Bass®.
