The Lakland 44-02 Deluxe Skyline boasts a sleek and distinctive body shape, complemented by a stunning spalted maple top. Its comfortable offset-waist design provides excellent balance and playability. This model mirrors the original US version with its custom-contoured curves, bridge, and pickups. Whether you play rock, jazz, or anything in between, the Lakland MM-J pickup system delivers a versatile range of tones to suit your style. Equipped with the same incredible pickups and preamp found on the pricier 44-94, the 44-02 Deluxe Skyline offers active electronics that bring serious punch and dynamic expression across the entire fingerboard. The dual-coil MM-style humbucking pickup at the bridge provides powerful, aggressive tones, while the Lakland Split-coil J-style humbucking pickup at the neck produces smooth, warm sounds.
Underneath its impressive pickup setup, the 44-02 Deluxe Skyline features a thoughtfully chosen blend of tonewoods, delivering a harmonically rich and punchy sound. The ash body is finely contoured for maximum comfort, making it an ideal choice for long gigs, while the solid maple neck ensures added punch and sustain with every note you play. Plus, you'll never have to deal with the hum typically associated with vintage designs. This affordable custom bass gives you active pickups, a gorgeous quilted maple top, and the same high-end hardware and electronics found in the USA-made Lakland models.
